Program Director, Doctor of Computer Science

Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science at Judson University seeks a Program Director for the Doctor of Computer Science program. This position is a full-time, professional track faculty position with split teaching load and program administration. The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in Computer Science or related field with experience leading academic programs in higher education.

Primary Responsibilities

In relation to Division Chair duties, candidate is responsible for:

  • Maintain the currency of program content and learning resources, which includes new course development
  • Recruit, Orient, Develop, and Evaluate full and part-time faculty
  • Respond to program-related faculty concerns
  • Work with Program Manager to ensure faculty/adjunct contracts are timely and correct
  • Facilitate program orientation for new students
  • Advise/refer students as appropriate
  • Remain professionally active, keeping pace with current teaching, and learning theories and developments in the Program field
  • Participate in appropriate institutional meetings
  • Participate on committees which are assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Teach within program as agreed upon with Associate Provost for Curriculum
Qualifications
  • Hold an earned doctorate in Computer Science, Higher Ed., or related field
  • Demonstration of knowledge and experience in the program being managed
  • Experience teaching at the university level in the field covered by the Program
  • A minimum of three to five years working with administrative matters in an educational environment.
  • Commitment to Christ-centered Christian higher education
  • Commitment to the Mission, Educational Goals, and Community Standards of the University
  • Support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith in the discipline in an engaging and compelling manner
  • Collaborative skills to work with colleagues in the Division and throughout the University
  • Ability to promote the Program and represent Judson University to various stakeholders, both within and outside the University, and to work collegially with them
