Psychology (Counseling) Assistant or Associate Professor

Job Summary:

A full-time position in Psychology, at the assistant or associate level, starting AY 2020-2021. With more than 85 students, psychology is one of the largest majors on campus. Though candidates with any psychology-related specialty are encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in candidates who can teach courses related to counseling.

Primary Responsibilities:

This faculty member will:  Teach undergraduate courses in the Psychology Department with primary focus in courses related to counseling, including but not limited to Counseling Theories, Marriage and the Family, Basic Helping, Trauma and Crisis Intervention, and Health Aspects/Chemical Dependency; Mentor and advise undergraduate students in the Psychology Department and serve as a team player by collaborating with faculty to foster student and program success; Conduct scholarly work in the form of research and/or service to the profession, and maintain active memberships in relevant professional associations/organizations; Serve on departmental and university committees.


Successful candidates must: have an earned terminal degree (master’s degree, doctorate preferred) in Psychology or related field; demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith; support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith in the discipline in an engaging and compelling manner; and collaborative skills to work with colleagues in the department and throughout the University.
