At Judson University, we believe that leaders are forged through faith and critical thinking. Our Bachelor of Human Services degree teaches you how to improve the lives of individuals, families, and the community. In this program, you will develop the interpersonal and cultural competence skills needed to recognize and respect the dignity and worth of all persons. Further, you will learn how to evaluate and analyze service systems in order to facilitate positive change that empowers the lives of vulnerable people- children, youth, and adults - struggling with challenges that include interpersonal problems, mental health issues, poverty, oppression, violence and homelessness.

You will have opportunities to:

  • Conduct, evaluate, and present research projects
  • Build skills in assessment, counseling, and intervention
  • Learn how to advocate for vulnerable populations

How Much of My Time Will It Take?

Judson’s Professional Studies Division is tailored to adults who are building on work experience or prior education as they seek a bachelor’s degree. Our students continually report that they are able to attend college and earn a degree while still maintaining their work and family life. Classes meet just one night a week or online. Expect to spend about 15 hours a week on coursework outside of class. You can complete your human services major work in as few as two years, and the time to complete the rest of your degree varies depending on your previous learning experience.
