Caroline Kennedy to Keynote Judson University's 2019 World Leaders Forum

Bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio host Eric Metaxas to lead interview

 ELGIN, IL March 14, 2019 – Judson University announced today that author, diplomat and former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy will keynote the eighth World Leaders Forum on October 8, 2019, in Schaumburg. In addition to serving as the first female ambassador to Japan, Kennedy is the eldest child of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. The discussion will be led by bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio host Eric Metaxas as part of Socrates in the City, his acclaimed series of conversations on “life, God and other small topics.”

“Judson University is honored to welcome Ambassador Kennedy to our community for an important discussion about values, political courage and service,” said Judson University President Dr. Gene Crume. “By hosting this conversation with Eric Metaxas and Socrates in the City, we are presenting our campus and community with an opportunity to consider life’s biggest questions.”

Previous World Leaders Forum keynote speakers include former President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mexican President Felipe Calderón, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and former Vermont Governor and presidential candidate Howard Dean. The goal of the World Leaders Forum is to offer Judson students and the Chicagoland community an opportunity to be inspired by significant thought leaders.

Proceeds from the event will continually fund the Judson Leadership Scholars program, innovative entrepreneurial activities, and ongoing operations of the World Leaders Forum, as well as benefit the higher education of youth in foster care by providing programs and educational opportunities at Judson University.

Due to the growing popularity of this event, the 2019 World Leaders Forum will be held off campus for the first time at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. A VIP reception with Kennedy and Metaxas will precede the program at 5 p.m., and the event will begin at 7 p.m.

About former U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy
