Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts to Host Civic Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and Special Virtual Events

Orchestra 2018 (ELGIN, IL – REVISED November 20, 2020) The Judson Civic Orchestra will perform in person on Sunday, November 22, at 2 p.m. in Herrick Chapel on the beautiful riverside campus of Judson University (1151 N. State Street, Elgin).

Senior Piano Performance Major, Ben Johnson, will perform George Gershwin’s iconic “Rhapsody in Blue” with an ensemble from the Judson Civic Orchestra. Small ensembles from the Orchestra will also perform a variety of repertoire.

Tickets are $10 (plus handling fees) and are available only through Eventbrite.com and not at the door. Audience members will be gently screened upon arrival and asked to wear masks for the duration of the performance.

The Judson Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Michael Folker, will perform a variety of energetic percussion pieces and will feature Judson alumnae Michelle Osakada in a marimba duet with Michael Folker. McKenna Liebenow, daughter of Judson alum and adjunct professor Scott Liebenow, will be a guest soloist.
