Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts to Perform a Thanksgiving Concert of Worship

Choir 2019(ELGIN, IL – November 1, 2019) Judson University’s semi-annual Concert of Worship will take place on Saturday, November 23, at 3 p.m. in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin) this fall.

“Due to the unusual calendar this year, which finds us in final exams the week after Thanksgiving Break, we are offering the first-ever DCWPA Thanksgiving Concert of Worship instead of the usual Christmas celebration,” said Dr. Warren Anderson, director of the Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts. “The Judson University Choir will perform, as will all of the DCWPA small ensembles. Our guest artist is Adjunct Professor of voice Toni Esker, who will sing a variety of songs full of thanks and gratitude.”

The small ensembles will include the Judson Piano, Percussion, Guitar, and Jazz Ensembles, as well as the Chamber Singers. This concert will center on gratitude to help listeners and the Judson community prepare their hearts for Thanksgiving celebrations with families the following week.

Admission to the event is free, although a free-will offering will be taken. Please note that there will be only one performance. In the past, Judson has offered two Christmas Concerts.
