Judson University’s Homecoming for 2019 Is Just Around the Corner

(ELGIN, IL – September 18, 2019) Homecoming and Family Weekend 2019 promises to be an exciting, action-packed adventure for the entire family Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 26-28.

Judson students will interact with local alumni and businesses for a new Job Fair and Network Night on Thursday, Sept. 26. New this year, Judson will host a Job Fair with area businesses from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for students and alumni to make connections for internships or jobs. Then, attendees will learn from Alumnae Kesha Kelly ’05, ’14, an empowerment speaker, author and trainer with more than 17 years of human resources experience during Network Night. On Friday, Sept. 27, alumni and parents can enjoy the Alumni Chapel before going to the Café for lunch (additional fee). In the afternoon, several faculty and administrators for “Going Back to Class” Information meetings. That night, Judson will hold the Athletic Hall of Fame and introduce the next Hall of Fame Class of Andrea Boylard Hagenmaier (Women's Basketball, 1996); Vusa Nkomazana (Men's Soccer, 1998); Rocky DeWayne Robinson (Men's Basketball, 2009); Samantha Vestal (Women's Soccer, 2008); and Brent Weber (Men's Basketball, 1970).

On Saturday, Sept. 28, festivities begin at 8 a.m. with the Fun Run/5K (registration will be available outside of Lindner Fitness Center at 7 a.m.) Wilson Hall alumni will take on the Wilson Hall men in a Disc Golf Challenge, complete with prizes. Alumni Games in basketball, baseball, softball and women’s soccer will all commence at 10 a.m., on their respective fields.

Homecoming Image 1 2018 The Alumni Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will honor our Alumnus of the Year Kristy Engel ’91, global consultant for Health for International Ministries, and Distinguished Alumni of Marcelo ’96 and Lisa Galvao ’95, founders of All Nations Sports Academy, and Mark Vargas ‘04, consultant, tech entrepreneur in health care and political opinion writer.

The young and the young at heart will enjoy an afternoon of face painting, inflatable play, food trucks and lawn games at Judson Fest! from 1-3 p.m. on Dawson Field. Alumni and their families are able to purchase meals in the Dining Hall to see renovations that have taken place since they were students.

Saturday evening, DCWPA will host the 20th Anniversary of the Worship Arts Program Celebration Concert with a joint alumni and student choir.

Throughout the weekend there will be plenty of sporting events, a 5K run/walk, face painting, lawn games, and the Fresh Ideas food truck. Check out the complete schedule here (JudsonU.edu/homecoming), and get registered today!
