Derrick Puckett (ELGIN, IL – January 16, 2020) The Judson community will welcome Pastor Derrick Puckett of Renewal Church Chicago to lead the weeklong Spiritual Enrichment Week, daily from February 3-7. The chapel times on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin). The services for Tuesday and Thursday will be at 11 a.m. Chapel events are free and open to the public.

Spiritual Enrichment Week is a recurring chapel series focused on re-energizing the Judson student base with discussions about real-life, practical topics.

Pastor Puckett is the lead pastor and church planter of Renewal Church of Chicago, a gospel-centered, multi-ethnic, and disciple-making church located in the East Village neighborhood. He is also the President of The Chicago Partnership, a multi-ethnic, multi-denominational team of local church leaders working to plant and revitalize gospel-centered churches in Chicago.

“Chicago needs a movement of churches convinced that the gospel can renew lives, rebuild them through life-on-life discipleship, and release them to win this city for the glory and honor of God,” reads the Renewal website. Derrick says that planting Renewal Church has been a long-time dream for him and his wife, Kaley, as he was born and raised in nearby Gary, Ind.

Derrick graduated in 2013 with his Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary near Memphis, Tenn. While there, he also served as Resident Pastor at Fellowship Memphis Church. Prior to that, he served with Campus Crusade in Indianapolis, Ind. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University.
