Shanel Poole(ELGIN, IL – September 23, 2020) Shanel Poole joined Judson University as Doctoral Graduate Assistant of Inclusion and Diversity. She is currently working on campus and is the liaison to the Black Student Union. She has 15 years of experience in public speaking and event planning. She has also developed and implemented a trauma-informed curriculum which has helped many young women.

Shanel Poole received her Bachelor’s of Science from Indiana State University, her Master’s in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and her MBA from Indiana University Scott College of Business. She also has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Indiana School of Environmental and Public Affairs.

During her college years, she regularly returned to Indiana to help young girls avoid experiencing some of the challenging things that she experienced at their age. GLAM has changed and improved the lives of over 350 girls for over 10 years.

Along with being the executive director of GLAM, Poole has also established partnerships with many businesses, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations. She has received multiple awards including the State of Indiana Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Freedom Award in January of 2013, the Indiana Commission for Women, Torchbearer Award in March of 2013, and the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, Courage Award in November of 2013, the Pass the Torch Non-Profit Achievement Award in October of 2017, and most recently, the Indianapolis NAACP & MHCMC the Community Advocate Award in February of 2020.
