Ethan Adams

Management, Marketing & Communications, Class of 2015

Ethan Adams of Springfield, Ill., graduated from Judson in 2015 as a triple major in Marketing, Management, and Communication Studies.

“The Judson community was an integral piece of the puzzle for me as I matured from a high school kid at 18 into an adult at 22,” Ethan said. “It was somewhere I could be taught, but also somewhere I could begin teaching others and taking a stand for my beliefs because I believed them, not because I was being told to believe them.”

Ethan didn't waste a moment of his time at Judson. He served as president of the Judson Business Society and a member of the Chapel worship band for a year. He studied in Oxford, England in June of 2014. He interned as digital marketer at Hi-Five Sports Club and as an editorial assistant and marketer at Christianity Today. Through these internships, he realized that marketing was a great combination of communication and business that fit his strengths well.

As a senior, Ethan worked alongside Professor Michelle Kilbourne to establish CREATE 2015 to launch Judson's own Shark Tank event in April 2015. For the second Shark Tank event, held in November of 2015, Ethan was one of five student groups presenting business ideas. Ethan partnered with fellow business student Zachary Conover '16 to develop a phone app to help small businesses and their idea won first place.

Looking back, Ethan credits his work on Shark Tank with leading to a job offer from Future Founders, a non-profit organization in Chicago that helps students become entrepreneurs. He worked for Future Founders for two years, before joining the team at Anguleris Technologies, which was founded by Judson alumni and trustee, Benjamin Glunz '10 and '12. Today, Ethan works as Director of Marketing at Anguleris, which is headquarters in downtown Elgin, and resides in nearby South Elgin.

“Due to our close proximity to Judson, our business’s close ties to architecture and the Judson architecture program, and Ben’s role as CEO, we’ve had quite a few Judson students and alumni come work for our company over the years,” Ethan said. “At any given time, I’d say we’re about 60 percent Judson alumni at Anguleris.”

Ethan continues to gives back to his alma mater today by serving on the Judson Alumni Board since 2018. Currently, he is Vice Chair of the board and leads the Alumni Engagement committee. Through this work, Ethan's commitment to shaping the lives of Judson's students and new graduates continues.
