Kassidy Gaylord

Exercise Sport Science, Class of 2019

Kassidy Gaylord ’19 of Elgin, Ill. decided to attend Judson because it was close to home and allowed her to study what she loves in the ESS Major. Now, she is preparing to move forward in her career in Occupational Therapy through graduate studies, and is thankful for how Judson helped shape her for the future.

“Judson was unique for me because I got to experience multiple different communities brought into one. I received a job as a resident advisor for the RISE program, which made my experience extra unique! I was also an ESS club president, blue crew student leader, and helped with all the advising positions for RISE [Road to Independent Living, Spiritual Formation, and Employment],” Kassidy said, reflecting on her strong involvement in many aspects of Judson’s community.

“I got to be a part of an amazing major (Exercise and Sport Science) with professors and classmates who were always pushing me to be better!” Throughout the course of her time at Judson, Kassidy was able to learn about the human body and prepare for Occupational Therapy school.

In the fall, Kassidy will begin studying at North Central College. She says that, “Judson prepared me for OT by providing me the classes it is going to take to know the human body… The RISE program provided an opportunity to work with students with intellectual disabilities. It helped prepare me by placing me in situations of growth. The students changed my life and made me extra confident in my love for my career path!”

While she continues on in her career through an internship at Access Healthcare and graduate school in the fall, she says, “I will miss this [Judson] community very much, but I know I always have people to reach out to when I start graduate school!”
