Conrad Egyir (b. 1989 in Accra, Ghana) received a B.A. from Judson University, Elgin, IL for Studio Art (2015) and an M.F.A in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art Bloomfield Hills, MI (2018). He has been an artist in residence at Talking Dolls in Detorit, MI (2017). Conrad also taught art and basic elementary education in Ghana prior to his migration. During his graduate education he worked as an art instructor with a ArtRoad, a nonprofit organization sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, that revives art education in Detroit public schools where it was once deprogrammed due to lack of funding.
His work has been featured in solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Library Street Collective, Detroit, and Jessica Silverman Gallery, San Francisco. Group shows include the Cranbrook Art Museum (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and Grand Rapids Art Museum (MI). Paintings have been acquired by the Rennie Collection (Vancouver, BC), the Jimenez-Colon Collection (Puerto Rico), and the Cranbrook Art Museum (MI).
