GE Colpitts has taught at Judson for 20 years, and is currently a board member of the Illinois Higher Education Art Association (IHEAA). She earned her BA from Greenville College (IL) and her MA and MFA degrees from Northern Illinois University. She has won numerous awards and honors for her work. Her current research interests are in drawing, ceramics, and American history. Her art, encompassed within Project 1216 and the Cenotaph Series, involves ongoing historical research and response to her discoveries through drawings and ceramic installations.
