Dr. David Sanders

Director of the MA in Ministry and Leadership

Dr. Dave brings 30 years of youth ministry field experience to the classroom. Due to his extensive international ministry exposure, he can hook you up almost anywhere in the world to do ministry.

Dr. David Sanders has been involved with church and parachurch youth ministry for 30+years. Most of his experience in youth ministry has come from involvement with Young Life staff positions. Fifteen of those years were invested in Europe conducting ministry in a particular niche to military teens on NATO bases all across Europe with MCYM/Club Beyond.

Currently, Dr. Sanders is a Tenured Professor of Christian Ministries at Judson University in Elgin, IL, where he loves teaching and interacting with college students. His courses include youth ministry and adolescent studies classes as well as mentoring, evangelism, spiritual formation, and intercultural missions. For the last five years, he has been directing a partnership project between the American Bible Society and MCYM with a web-based engagement tool called RezLife.com focused on military teens. He is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Church Alliance.

Dave’s six years of military service include being an Armor officer, platoon leader, and army aviator (helicopter pilot).

Dave has been working at being a good husband to his wife, Debbie, and a good father to his daughters, Becca and Raine. He and his wife love being together, traveling, walking their golden retriever, remodeling their 100-year-old home, and, most recently, raising chickens, honey bees, and gardening in their small backyard.
