Kristen Stombres
Pro-rata Associate Professor
Professor Kristen Stombres is a Judson graduate. She began teaching in District 300, Carpentersville in the 1st and 5th grades. Kristen returned to the Judson Teacher Education program when it had only been on campus for two years in 1985.
You may also see Professor Stombres in various elementary classrooms throughout the Fox Valley engaged in literacy activities. Professor Stombres is a past President of the Northern Illinois Reading Council and Past President of College Instructors of Reading Professionals (CIRP) and is currently on the CIRP board. She is a member of Chapel Street Church in Geneva. Professor Stombres’ home is in St. Charles where she lives with her husband Jim. Awards include Northern Illinois Reading Council Award for Excellence, CCCU-Outstanding Alumni Award, Judson Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Golden Eagle Award for dedication and service to Judson University and the community..
