Judson University is proud to once again partner with the My Best Friends Foundation (MyBFF) to host the 6th Annual MyBFF 5K/8.13K Walk & Run on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Judson University campus in Elgin (1151 N. State Street).
This marks the second year Judson has hosted the event and continues to be a meaningful way to stand alongside individuals and families impacted by cancer. Participants will walk or run in honor of friends fighting cancer and in memory of those who have lost their battle with the disease. The walk is in honor of Rod Wittig and Sharon Berryhill. These are two very loved individuals whose lives continue to inspire many. The unique 8.13K distance, equivalent to five miles, holds special significance Rod Wittig would have turned 50 on August 13, 2020, and this distance serves as a powerful tribute to his legacy.

This family-friendly event will also feature a Kid Zone, live DJ, raffles, ice cream, and a 50/50 drawing, making it an inspiring and fun-filled day for all ages. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit MyBFF’s outreach to local families dealing with cancer, offering tangible support in times of need.
