MARKETING/GRAPHIC DESIGN, CLASS OF 2022
Lizeth Medina knew she wanted to study in the United States and find a small community where she could build quality relationships with her classmates and professors. She transferred to Judson from a small school in North Carolina.
Liz had to endure a major hardship when she lost her father just months before college started. She was also not used to being so far from home in Mexico, and she was still working on her English skills. However, Liz was encouraged by the support and kindness that she found in the community. She says, “Judson makes it less hard for me with the lovely and friendly people that I have found at Judson.”
Despite her challenges, Liz worked hard and found many ways to get involved at Judson. She was recruited to play for the Women’s Tennis Team. She was involved in the Communications and Marketing Department and worked as a barista at Jerry’s, the small cafe located on campus. She also joined the Judson Student Organization, where she eventually became the vice president of marketing for 2021.
Liz chose to major in Marketing with a minor in Graphic Design. She says that her experience at Judson has given her “the opportunity to have a high-level education and develop human relations skills through interaction with the people at Judson.”
While at Judson, Lizeth interned with the Chicago Auto Show. She also interned at Anguleris, where she completed a variety of tasks to help manage their daily operations. She finished her third internship over the summer at the Nike Tennis Camp at Pepperdine University.
“I have met people from not only different states in the USA, but also different countries, people who have different views and different interests and from whom I have learned a lot,” she concludes. After she graduates in 2022, Liz hopes to continue on to graduate school while working as an assistant coach for the women’s tennis team.
