Program Overview

Business students at Judson University can choose from one of three majors: Accounting, Management, or Marketing. These are the three functional areas of every business. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with business practices, applicable projects, and professional experiences that will enhance their understanding of the operations of business and not-for-profit organizations.

Business students share a common core of business courses, such as, economics, business law, corporate finance, business communications, and foundational courses. Many of our students opt to double major in two or more of our majors and/or earn a minor or certificate.

Students may also choose to earn a minor in business, marketing or finance. We also offer certificates in Social Media Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Event Planning, Human Resource Management, and Nonprofit Marketing and Management.

A Unique & Professional Experience

The Business Department at Judson University provides students with a variety of opportunities to develop professional skills in the business environment.

Shark Tank

Inspired by the reality business pitch series “Shark Tank” on ABC, Judson’s annual event engages the student body and fosters creativity and entrepreneurship for students within all majors. Students prepare a pitch for their own business and deliver their presentations before a panel of judges. These judges are chosen for their leadership in local businesses.

A Personal Approach

Our Business Department offers a unique opportunity for you to develop personal relationships with our faculty. This rare experience at the university level translates to increased opportunity inside and outside of the classroom.

While the most obvious opportunities include taking advantage of the faculty’s professional relationships for networking and career development, you can also be closely involved in academic program development, research, and creating new initiatives within the university.

Beyond the Classroom

With small class sizes and a personal approach to the classroom, we offer a quality education. But all the opportunities outside the classroom add to each student’s appreciation for God’s gifts. You can extend your educational experiences by participating in our business clubs, entrepreneurial initiatives, service projects, or practicum experiences.

Internships and Experimental Learning

Judson’s business students are prepared for the business environment by “trying it out” through one of our many internship opportunities. Judson’s Business Department connects students with employers, project managers, and event planners to provide you with a dynamic network of professionals. Judson students have worked in a variety of industries, such as:

  • Merrill-Lynch
  • Pepsi
  • Northwestern Mutual
  • Susan B. Anthony Foundation
  • Elgin Symphony
  • United Airlines
  • Target
  • John Deere
  • Wrigley Field

Find Success at Judson

When I first visited campus, everybody I met was so nice to me and my family and I will never forget that. Being a member of the women’s basketball team at Judson, my teammates made me laugh and we enjoyed making unforgettable moments every single day. Judson is a great place to grow individually with the help of friends, professors, and classmates, this university has shaped me into the person I am today.”
