Media Writing, Class of 2021
Victoria (Tori) Crowe transferred to Judson University as a junior. She was drawn to the idea of a smaller campus where she could grow academically and spiritually. She states, “I chose Judson because I wanted a small, close-knit community that I could feel was like a second home to me.”
Tori was thrilled to discover the Media Writing major that Judson offered, which allowed her to pursue her love of writing. She says, “When I found out that Judson offered a Media Writing major, I knew right away that it was the perfect fit for me. It was the perfect combination of writing, social media, business, and journalism. I loved all of my classes that were geared toward my major.”
Even as a commuter student, Tori quickly became involved in the community. She landed a job working in the Communications Office on campus, where she put her skills into practice and became acquainted with more people in the community. Tori says, “It ended up being a great experience for me and gave me the opportunity to get to know students on campus that I wouldn’t have otherwise met.”
Tori was amazed at the love and support she felt from her professors and her advisor. “They are constantly going out of their way to cheer you on, give you little words of encouragement, and challenge you to be the best you can be in the most loving and caring way,” she notes.
Tori was extremely grateful to have such a caring community to lean on when she endured some challenging hardships during her senior year. She reflects, “It’s because God placed me in this university with this particular support system that I overcame this season and came out a better and stronger version of myself.”
As a senior, Tori interned at Evangel Church, which turned into a full-time job offer after her graduation in May 2021. Today, she serves as the church’s Experience Manager.
Tori made the most of her experience and found a second home at Judson.
“I was very pleasantly surprised by the warm sense of home and community that I felt during my years at Judson, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything,” Tori concludes.
