Are you looking for a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program that can help you reach your dreams of being a licensed clinical professional while still having time for work and family? If you said yes, then Judson University’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program could be the right fit for you! 

The purpose of Judson’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACC) program is to prepare students to become licensed clinical professional counselors who address the needs of individuals and groups from a Christian perspective.

Here are a few quick facts about Judson’s MACC program: 

  • Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited 
  • Available at both the Elgin and Rockford campuses 
  • Takes about 3 years to complete 
  • 60 credit hours

  • Applied experience with practitioners during Practicum and Internship courses 
  • Classes meet one night per week for 4 hours 
  • Focus on practical application of theory

Practicum and Internship 

Students need to show proficiency in clinical mental health counseling and other related tasks through supervised direct service with clients. Students need to log 100 hours for their Practicum and log 600 hours for their Internship. During the Practicum and Internship, students need to demonstrate competence in: 

  • Counseling techniques 
  • Counseling assessment 
  • Use of diagnostic tools 
  •  Developing treatment plans 
  • Evaluating client progress 
  • Clinical writing skills and documentation 
  • Agency Administration (internship only)
