Adjunct Instructor of Human Anatomy and Physiology

Job Summary:

The Department of Science and Mathematics in the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education at Judson University seeks applications from individuals to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology I in Fall 2024 and Human Anatomy and Physiology II in Spring 2025. A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Anatomy and Physiology, biology, or related discipline (e.g., DPT, MD, DC, OTD etc.) is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

The position requires teaching lecture and lab for Human Anatomy and Physiology for Fall 2024 and possibly in Spring 2025. Actively monitor students and provide help as needed during lab session. The instructor will utilize our BioPac instrumentation for select physiology laboratories and cats as our dissection model for anatomy. Additional materials for dissection can be used at the instructor’s discretion (e.g., cow eye, sheep hearts and brains). Instructor will prepare lessons (lecture and/or active learning), select homework assignments (these can be completed using an online homework system such as Sapling), create tests, lab practicals, and quizzes over the prescribed textbook/lab sections, respond to student questions (often via email), and evaluate student work.

Qualifications:

Candidates must 1) have a minimum of 18 hrs. of graduate level credits in anatomy, physiology, or biology; or hold a master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in Human Anatomy and Physiology; or hold an MD, DPT, DC, OTD 2) demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith, 3) share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community, and 4) possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the Science and Mathematics Department and throughout the university.

Salary/Benefits:

Adjunct faculty hold the rank of instructor and are hired on a per-course basis.
