Judson’s Latino Student Union is a student-led group that promotes cultural diversity on campus. It also provides a voice for students of the Latino and Hispanic community, partners with various departments at Judson and the Elgin community and hosts an array of events that are open to the Judson community. LSU has sponsored events that include cooking nights making guacamole and quesadillas; dance lesson nights to learn dances like Merengue, Salsa and Bachata; movie nights displaying movies that promote the Latino and Hispanic culture. This student group has also collaborated with the Wellness Center on suicide prevention and the Black Student Union for the Pan Afrikan Party learning about the Afro Latinos. In September, the group celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month to promote Latino and Hispanic Heritage on campus.
