The World Leaders Forum

Purpose and Vision

The World Leaders Forum began in 2011, with the goal of bringing a world renowned speaker to the Judson Campus, to give students a chance to hear an inspiring message, take an active interest in the framework of leadership, understand how leaders develop, and even ask questions and seek advice from someone who has made a global impact on our world.  The goal of the Forum is to provide a world-class learning opportunity for the Judson University community and the communities we serve in the Fox River Valley to include our hometown of Elgin.  The proceeds from the Forum support the development of an entrepreneurial studies program and scholarships for Judson students to include the World Leaders Forum Scholars scholarships.  This is one of the most prestigious scholarships that a Judson University student can receive, and only five students have the honor of receiving it every year..

Over the past four years the World Leaders Forum has raised nearly $500,000, with half of this used to establish an endowment for an entrepreneurial studies program and the other half going toward student scholarships. The World Leaders Forum must raise at least $1 million in endowed funds before launching its entrepreneurial studies program.

The Entrepreneurial Studies Program

Judson's School of Leadership and Business launched its accredited MBA program in 2013.  As a first step in creating a distinct entrepreneurial program, Judson is offering an entrepreneurial certificate program as part of the MBA program.  The university is also researching development of a distinctive entrepreneurial program within the higher education sector that does not duplicate its existing programs.  In addition to developing an undergraduate minor or a major in the Business program, Judson is developing an entrepreneurial focus across other disciplines.

Benefits to World Leaders Forum Scholars

World Leaders Forum Scholars receive the following benefits:

  • A sponsored ticket to the annual World Leaders Forum Community Event.
  • An opportunity to interview for the World Leaders Forum Internship position during sophomore, junior and senior year at Judson University.
  • An invitation to the Presidential World Leaders Forum Scholar Dinner in Chicago. Students will attend an exclusive dinner with the Judson President and a renowned business leader. The first dinner was hosted in October at a private residence on the 77th Floor of the John Hancock Building. The guest speaker was Wintrust CEO Ed Wehmer, and the guest list included Judson Trustees, World Leaders Forum Board members and distinguished Judson alumni.
  • Scholars will participate in monthly meetings that will cover a range of topics to include entrepreneurship, leadership development, business etiquette, networking, creativity and innovation.

2015 World Leaders Forum Scholars

This fall Judson welcomed the first class of the World Leaders Forum Scholars. These five students were selected because of their academic and leadership achievements.  Their diverse backgrounds represent the goal of entrepreneurialism across disciplines.
