Music Business & Entrepreneurship, Class of 2022

Rose Wodek, from Wildwood Ill., immediately felt at home during her first visit to Judson. She was impressed with the community’s friendliness along with her caring professors. “It was so easy to get to know not only fellow students but to establish a deeper connection with faculty and staff that I don’t think you’d get at a bigger school. Every professor knew students by name and even if you only had one class with them, they still remembered who you were,” she says.

Majoring in Music Business and Entrepreneurship, Rose utilized her class assignments and projects to further advance her skills. “Not only did I gain knowledge for my field, but my senior project allowed me to start my career independently,” she explains. “I chose to do an album in which I wrote, recorded, mastered, and released an entire album over the course of the whole semester.”

Rose relished her experience in the Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts, and she appreciated the support shown by other students within that community, regardless of their major. “Students were highly encouraged to attend fellow classmates’ recitals and ensemble concerts to rally around each other and show Christ’s love to fellow students by [showing] their support,” she relates. “It was because of stuff like this that I know I will have memories to hold onto for the rest of my life.”

Rose graduated in the fall of 2021 and has found multiple ways to stay connected to the Judson community. She states, “[P]ost-graduation I am looking forward to taking advantage of Judson’s new partnership with Dark Horse Studios by attending their semester’s length songwriting program.”

She has also continued to contribute her gifts to the Judson Theatre by serving as the assistant director of the spring production, Cheaper by the Dozen, which opens tonight.

“The friends I made, the knowledge I gained, and the memories I gained along the way are things I know will stay with me for the rest of my life,” Rose reflects. “I couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home the last three-and-a-half years and I don’t think I would have enjoyed college as much as I did if I had gone anywhere else.”
