Department Highlights

See what makes the Judson University Communication Arts Department unique.

Diverse Curriculum

Judson University’s communication arts classes are structured to help you sharpen your skills for reading, writing, speaking, and listening as well as your understanding of different modes of communication – such as language, literature, and media – in both high and popular forms.

Structured Curriculum

The goals of this major were developed through reference to goals formulated at the Hope University Conference (July 2000), which convened specifically to articulate an ideal communication studies curriculum. The Hope University Conference asserts that “an undergraduate degree in communication should educate individuals to be capable of assessing situations and crafting appropriate communicative response to interact effectively with diverse others and to participate as socially responsible members of their increasingly mediated and complex communities.” The Judson University program adds to that biblically-based values and precepts.

Practical Instruction

Our communication arts faculty will help you understand multiple theoretical and intellectual perspectives in communication in their historical and philosophical contexts as well as develop effective communication and presentation skills that will help you succeed in your future career.

Biblical and Ethical focus

You will have the opportunity to develop your competency in the analysis and practice of ethical communication in both local and global contexts and within the context of biblically-based values and precepts.

Dark-Room-Studio
Access to High-Quality Facilities
Judson Communication students have access to our studio facilities including our Dark Room Studios and auditorium. Students involved in the Demoss Center for Worship in Performing Arts are also equipped to play, sing, create, speak and lead as never before.

Alumni Success

Transferring to Judson… I immediately found a sense of belonging here as well as a deep Christian community… I cannot wait to see how God uses the many gifts that have been developed and grown here at Judson as I move on in my future endeavors.
