BUSINESS DEPARTMENT

Why Study Business at Judson?

The business program at Judson University focuses on preparing students for the dynamic, global business environment. Our graduates acquired the skills to plan, organize, and control the operations of a small business, corporation, or not for profit organization. Between our practical business courses, qualified faculty, and internship opportunities, Judson Business students have an enriched, vibrant college experience.

Besides our academic majors, we offer a variety of minors and certificates, so you can complement your business major, or earn a credential in business while majoring in another discipline. Our goal is to serve students through engaging classrooms, practical business tours of Chicagoland, and coordinating internships to apply their knowledge and skills.

Business Majors (Bachelor Degrees)

Students in our Business Department can choose from one of three majors including a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Bachelor of Arts in Management, or Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. Our curriculum is designed to provide you with content, projects, and experiences that enhance your understanding of business processes and networks. Many of our students graduate with a double major in two or more of our majors and/or certificates. Looking to continue on at Judson for your master's degree? Judson also offers two academically engaging master's degrees that continue to foster business and leadership expertise: a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.

Business Minors

In addition to our offered business degrees, you can also add one of our business minors to your existing major.

Business Certificates

Do you want to go more in-depth in a particular aspect of business? Not majoring in business but want to gain more understanding of specific areas of business? Then consider earning a certificate:

Business Department Highlights

A Personal Approach

Our Business Department offers a unique opportunity for you to develop personal relationships with our faculty. This rare experience at the university level translates to increased opportunity inside and outside of the classroom. While the most obvious opportunities include taking advantage of the faculty’s professional relationships for networking and career development, you can also be closely involved in academic program development, research, and creating new initiatives within the university.

Beyond the Classroom

With small class sizes and a personal approach to the classroom, we offer a quality education. But all the opportunities outside the classroom add to the benefit. You can extend your educational experiences by participating in in our business clubs, entrepreneurial initiatives, or practicum experiences.

CREATE Initiative

CREATE is an evolving initiative promoting a campus-wide entrepreneurial spirit. This initiative was started by a handful of our business students and faculty who shared a similar vision for fostering a culture of entrepreneurialism throughout our campus and the Elgin, Illinois community.

Through cooperative relationships between faculty and students, CREATE has launched annual events like Judson Shark Tank, developed an inspirational collaborative space to foster new ideas, developed an entrepreneurial speakers’ series, and launched a new certificate in entrepreneurial studies.

Internships and Experiential Learning

Judson's business students are prepared for the business environment by “trying it out” through one of our many internship opportunities, such as the Chicago Auto Show, and/or Shark Tank competition. Judson’s Business Department connects students with employers, project managers, and event planners to provide you with a dynamic network of professionals.

At Judson, the faculty and staff emphasize the importance of internships by assisting students in finding exceptional intern possibilities. Judson students have worked in a variety of industries, such as:
